Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy shares his struggles with PTSD and explains why he lashed out at a fan during his Lagos concert. Read his heartfelt revelation.
Renowned Nigerian singer Burna Boy has at last disclosed the reason he kicked a fan during his performance at a Lagos concert.
Reports indicate that the singer was caught in a now controversial social media video, abruptly leaving the stage after allegedly assaulting a fan who attempted to touch him at the 2025 Lagos Countdown concert.
In response to the incident, numerous online users criticized the musician and labeled him as the most arrogant Nigerian artist.
In an Instagram story posted on Wednesday evening, Burna Boy addressed the controversy by revealing that he has PTSD and cautioned his fans against jumping onto his stage.
He mentioned, “The event was free. I planned to perform for 10 minutes but ended up staying on stage for almost an hour. Everyone is aware of my rule about surprising me while I’m performing.”
“Last night in Lagos State was incredible! Please, don’t rush the stage like that—I get anxious. Love you all and happy new year!”
Reports indicate that Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is marked by an inability to recover after witnessing or experiencing a traumatic event.
