Several Western blogs had shared photos of Burna Boy, casting doubt on his claim of being 32 years old and suggesting that he is actually older.
Taking to his Instagram account, Burna Boy clarified that the photos in question were old and expressed regret towards Nigerian blogs for any misunderstandings caused, emphasizing that the Western blogs were even worse in their reporting.
In his Instagram post, Burna Boy addressed those who rely on platforms like @theshaderoom and @theshadeborough, referring to them as “weirdos” and “parasites” who only care about trivial matters such as his appearance.
He highlighted that while he has been making history and breaking records, these blogs are more interested in gossip and sensationalism.
Burna Boy also admitted that he underestimated the level of knowledge Nigerian blogs have acquired from the West, leading him to apologize to them for his previous remarks.
It is worth mentioning that Burna Boy had previously threatened to take legal action against Nigerian blogs if they continued to publish stories about him without his consent.
He had offered to pay them to refrain from discussing matters related to him, but they declined his proposal.
This recent incident involving his age has prompted Burna Boy to reflect on the influence of Western blogs and the impact they have on the Nigerian media landscape.
