Bullion vehicle attacked by gunmen in Anambra

A bullion vehicle was ambushed by gunmen who are believed to be thieves on Thursday night in Ufuma, Orumba South Local Government Area, Anambra State.

According to a source, the gunmen followed the bullion van to the farming town of Ufuma where they opened fire on the truck and security guards riding in it while they were transporting cash to an unspecified location.

“It happened today (Thursday) around 5 o’clock, and there was a lot of gunfire nearby.

“While security personnel connected to the bullion van engaged the armed bandits, every inhabitant of the village escaped.
The cops were able to prevent their success, the person claimed.

The incident occurred at around 4 o’clock, according to DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, the command’s spokeswoman, but the armed men were ultimately driven back.

The bullion van’s operations bravely withstood the onslaught, he claimed. At around 4 o’clock, the event took place in Umunebo Junction, Ufuma.

“The assailants are now the target of an emergency manhunt, according to Police Commissioner CP Echeng Echeng. The armed robbers’ operating vehicles have been located.

He said that the burglars’ Lexus and Highlander jeeps had been found. One empty magazine, a bulletproof vest that had been altered, charms, and a few incriminating objects were also found.
