The National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) of Sierra Leone has confirmed that a seven-story building in Freetown, the capital city, collapsed on Monday resulting in the death of at least eight people.
According to the NDMA, a total of six individuals have been saved from the wreckage; however, numerous others are still stuck underneath the rubble.
Residential and commercial purposes were testified to have been served by the building as per eyewitness accounts.
An intensified endeavor has been launched by the NDMA and its associates to rescue additional casualties who are still ensnared beneath the fallen edifice, whilst simultaneously launching an inquiry into the root cause of this calamity.
