At polling place 003, Sarkin Yara A in Daura, Katsina State, President Muhammadu Buhari cast his ballot while urging voters to support their favourite candidates even if politicians tried to buy their votes.

The president said his government has been preaching against vote-buying and the commercialization of politics, and he called on politicians to refrain from such practises. The president spoke briefly to newsmen in both English and Hausa after casting his ballot on Saturday.

If they (politicians) continue to offer you money, collect it while casting your vote for the persons you want, Buhari insisted.
He once more praised the voters for supporting the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the Feb. 25 presidential and national assembly elections, which Sen. Bola Tinubu, the party’s candidate, won.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the president declined to ‘openly’ reveal his ballot paper like he did during the Feb. 25 Presidential election. The president cast his ballot at around 9.55 a.m. (NAN)
