Adams Oshiomhole, the former governor of Edo State, celebrated his 71st birthday on Tuesday, and President Muhammadu Buhari sent his warmest congratulations.
Buhari emphasised Oshiomhole’s audacity in pushing for changes and defending the interests of the populace.
Before entering politics, he served as President of the Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC) for eight years, fighting for workers’ rights. He praised the previous Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for his dedication to development and democracy.
Femi Adesina, the spokesperson for President Buhari, revealed this in a statement.
As Oshiomhole reaches the age of 71, Buhari asserts that “Nigeria owes the former NLC president a debt of gratitude” for consistently calling attention to the plight of workers and working to ensure that policies take into account the realities of those at the bottom of the economic and political ladder.
President Buhari offers prayers for Oshiomole and his family’s health.
