Muhammadu Buhari, the former president of Nigeria, feels he gave it his all during the course of his eight years in office.
He continued by saying that he would let the public choose whether or not his “best” was sufficient.
Buhari went on to say that Nigerians are difficult to lead because “they think they should be” in charge instead of “you.”
In his first interview with NTA since transferring the reins of power to President Bola Tinubu in May, the immediate past president addressed.

“I tried my best, but God granted me the chance to serve my nation. But I’ll let others decide if my best was sufficient,” stated Buhari.
“Nigerians are really challenging. They are aware of their rights. They believe it is their place, not yours, to be.
They essentially keep an eye on everything you do. And you have to work hard every day to make sure you are capable enough.
ABAL’S THEORY
Since the beginning of Buhari’s presidency, there have been suspicions that a conspiracy was trying to seize power.
When Aisha Buhari stated in 2016 that “you will know them (the hijackers) if you watch television,” she gave weight to the rumours.
Berlin, the capital of Germany, received Buhari’s response to his wife’s comments.
Buhari had stated, “I don’t know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs in my kitchen, my living room, and the other room.”
Since I ultimately prevailed, I therefore assert my greater expertise over her and the other opponents.
When asked if he thought a cabal may have taken over his government during the NTA interview, Buhari responded, “It must have been,” but he added that he wasn’t confident that anyone who breached the law could just “walk away.”
REDESIGN POLICY NAIRA
Regarding the contentious naira redesign policy, which caused cash shortages both before and after the 2016 election, Buhari stated that the action was necessary to identify individuals who had hidden money obtained illegally.
“Nigerians may not realise it, but our nation is impoverished. Additionally, there is materialism in that kind of setting, and occasionally people act callously without regard to how they acquired their money,” he remarked.
“I continue to believe that the only way I could rob these folks was to ensure that my honesty was beyond reproach… We still have a long way to go, in my opinion, as a developing nation.
“The goal of the policy was to instill in Nigerians the belief that effective leadership does not come easily.”
The former president also discussed how, after several fruitless tries, technology helped him win the 2015 presidential election.
Rather than showing me compassion, people made fun of me for not having money and being unable to purchase influence from others or from powerful individuals in any way. I replied, “God dey.” Additionally, he sent the PVC (Permanent Voter Card). i.e., you now have a single vote,” he declared.
As Nigeria’s president from 2015 until 2023, Buhari said that he wasn’t convinced he accomplished everything on his agenda, but he also stated that he didn’t miss his position.
