On Saturday, Garba Shehu – spokesperson of Buhari – conveyed in a statement the President’s admiration for Mustapha and her exceptional civil service career.
The announcement states that Olufunmilayo Mustapha celebrates her 60th birthday and receives well wishes for the future from Former President Muhammadu Buhari. Additionally, she is recognized for retiring as a director in the federal civil service on this same day.
In reference to Boss Gida Mustapha, the former Secretary to the Government of Federation whom he considers a devoted patriot determined in securing a brighter future and proud legacy for our nation, Muhammadu Buhari acknowledged his wife as an unwavering source of support and fortitude.

Boss Mustapha had the necessary backing from Olufunmilayo and his family to carry out an essential task in our administration.
The retired former SGF’s wife received commendation from Buhari for her valuable contribution to the nation’s public service. As a substantive director, she recently retired on Saturday. The President acknowledged that the civil service played an indispensable role in achieving numerous feats during his administration.
“He said Olufunmilayo Mustapha and other civil servants will serve as a source of inspiration for future generations.”
He hoped that she would maintain good health and accomplish the expectations of her family and country with great success.
