the most corrupt administration in Nigerian history, according to Archbishop Chukwuma

President Muhammadu Buhari’s government is the most corrupt in the history of the nation, according to Most Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma, Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop of Enugu Diocese in the Anglican Communion.

On Monday night, Chukwuma gave a press conference in Enugu and criticized the Buhari administration for failing to combat corruption.

The priest expressed sadness that the country’s situation had gotten worse under a government that had been elected on the premise that it would fight corruption and boost the economy.

He stated, “When Buhari took office, he promised change, and we welcomed him, but instead of what Nigerians were promised, what we are witnessing is worse.

“Corruption is at an all-time high. Under this administration, there is much too much money laundering and embezzlement.

Even corrupt officials who were previously incarcerated by the previous government have been granted pardons after being accused and detained.

“We were informed that there had been billions in plunder recovered.
I argued the government is too crooked because of this.
They are stealing the recovered funds again.

According to Obasanjonews24, the Buhari administration earlier this year pardoned two former State governors who had been imprisoned for embezzling public monies.

Between 1999 and 2007, the previous governors of Taraba State and Plateau State, respectively, were Jolly Nyame and Joshua Dariye.

They were among the 159 convicted criminals whose pardons the Council of State authorized in April of this year.

The move, according to Archbishop Chukwuma, is a blatant sign that the administration is not dedicated to the battle against corruption.

He also made fun of the government for the nation’s spiraling inflation, criticizing the fact that basic necessities were now out of the grasp of the average person.

“Inflation is out of control right now more than ever.
Today, a litre of gasoline costs between N250 and N300.

“Salaries are not being paid; the minimum wage has not yet been implemented in several States.

“Brain drain is at an all-time high; medical professionals in particular have all left the nation, and the administration is continuing as if nothing has changed.

We don’t know how the debt will be paid off, and we don’t even know what the government is doing with the loans, so their only interest is in taking out loans every day.

Oil theft has gotten worse. Why should the found vessel be set on fire? That would be evidence being destroyed. He bemoaned the fact that although some people were supposed to be dismissed for doing that, nothing had occurred.

Chukwuma asked the public to “look out for those with pedigree to pull us out of this quagmire” in the general elections of 2023.
We are held captive by inflation, insecurity, crumbling education, servitude to corruption, and a poor economy.

People are even doubtful that the election won’t take place since it is so upsetting. We ought to ask God to intervene.

“All veteran politicians ought to retire; they are worthless. We desire fresh wine in fresh wine casings.

But he advises Nigerians not to give up and to keep praying.

“I feel it is important to share this message as we enter Advent and get closer to Christmas and the New Year.

“Nigerians should pray more and put their faith in God to intervene. Let’s collaborate to improve Nigeria.

In the meanwhile, he denounced the attack on certain villages in Eha-Amufu, in the Enugu State region of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, which resulted in a number of fatalities.

He requested the immediate dismissal of the State’s security chiefs while charging certain security personnel with undermining Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s efforts.

He claimed that some of the security guards “are not helping us, they seem to be sympathetic to those killing our folks.”
