Buhari honors Emeka Anyaoku, who turns 90
On Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his congratulations to Chief Emeka Anyaoku, a former secretary general of the Commonwealth who will turn 90 on January 18, 2023.
In a letter that President Buhari personally signed, I’m happy to celebrate Chief Emeka Anyaoku’s 90th birthday on January 18, 2023, with him. He is a seasoned diplomat and administrator, and I’m glad to be able to do this.
I know that you have made important contributions to the growth of the country, from your early days as a junior Foreign Service Officer to your current job as Secretary-General of the Commonwealth. You have always made Nigeria look like a great place to live.
“I want to thank you for being a statesman and for using your many friends all over the world to help the country strengthen democracy, good governance, and sustainable development.
“As you pass the 90-year mark, we praise God for the gift of long life, good health, and sound mind, and we celebrate with you, your family, and your loved ones.” Birthday greetings.
Femi Adesina, the president’s special advisor on media and publicity, revealed this in a statement.
