Buhari directs government and the international to find the assassins of the Enugu LP candidate
While he expresses sympathy to the victims’ families, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), and the Labour Party, the President orders security services to find those responsible for this horrible act
The death of Oyibo Chukwu, the Labour Party’s (LP) senatorial candidate for Enugu East, has been denounced by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Gunmen shot and killed Mr. Chukwu and his assistant earlier in the week, injuring a number of others.
Buhari, in response, claimed that the criminals had little regard for human life.
In a statement, presidential aide Femi Adesina said those responsible “deserve the wrath of natural and divine justice.” The President reiterates his stated commitment to a peaceful and civil election.

The President commiserates with the victims’ families, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), and the Labour Party while directing security services to find those responsible for this horrible crime.
“President Buhari prays for the comfort of those in need and the repose of the souls of the deceased.”
