Roger Brown, the chief executive of Seplat Energy, has had his visa, residency permit, and work permit cancelled by the federal government.
This was said by Bashir Ahmad, President Muhammadu Buhari’s new media assistant, on his verified Twitter account.
According to Ahmad, Mr. Brown’s rights were taken away in Nigeria as a result of the alleged racist incident.
He claims that Mr. Brown has been charged with favouring foreign workers over Nigerians.

Roger Brown, a British businessman and CEO of Seplat Energy Plc, an oil and gas exploration and production company based in Nigeria, had his visa, residence permit, and work permit revoked by the Federal Government (FG) due to allegations of racism, favouritism of foreign workers, and discrimination against Nigerian employees, Ahmad wrote on Facebook.
But, Basil Omiyi, the chairman of Seplat’s board of directors, published a statement on Thursday disputing the charge against the CEO.
Omiyi declared that the business would work with the federal government to resolve the issue in a reasonable manner.
