According to reports, the APP secretariat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State was attacked by gunmen who shot a security guard. This marks a concerning increase in acts of violence.
Less than a month after the bombing of the party’s secretariat in New GRA area of Port Harcourt, another incident occurred around midnight.
On Wednesday, Sunny Wokekoro, the state chairman of APP, spoke to journalists present at the scene and shared his doubts regarding the specifics of the most recent attack.
At present, the wounded security personnel is undergoing medical care at a nearby hospital; however, no information has been disclosed about the severity of his injuries.

Even though police officers were stationed at the secretariat following last month’s bombing, no information regarding this latest attack has been provided by the authorities.
Wokekoro expressed his apprehensions about the efficiency of the police probe, especially due to lack of any progress on the prior bombing.
The wounded guard’s treatment location was visited by the chairman and other party leaders, who were accompanied by journalists. Regrettably, hospital staff did not grant the press permission to have an interaction with the victim.
Although facing continuous threats, Wokekoro remained resolute that the APP would persist with its operations and partake in next month’s local government election without any discouragement.
Despite the serious security challenges, the party persists in its dedication to carrying out its political activities.
