President Tinubu has officially sworn in the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, marking a significant development in the country’s judiciary.
After Justice Olukayode Ariwoola’s retirement, President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the interim Chief Justice of Nigeria.
Confirmation by the Senate is pending for her appointment, following which she will assume the role of the 23rd Chief Justice of the country.
On Friday, Justice Kekere-Ekun was officially sworn in and signed the register at Abuja’s State House Council Chamber during their induction ceremony.

Justice Kekere-Ekun assumes the position after Justice Ariwoola’s retirement, who held the post of Chief Justice from June 27, 2022 until he retired at the obligatory age of 70.
Justice Kekere-Ekun is set to be sworn-in soon, as announced by Ajuri Ngelale – the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity -on Thursday.
President Tinubu conveyed his appreciation to Justice Ariwoola, who is leaving office, for his committed services rendered to the nation.
