In the petitions filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress challenging Alex Otti’s election, the Supreme Court has deferred making a decision.

The five-member panel, chaired by John Okoro, heard arguments from the parties concerned before adjourning the cases for rulings.
The appeals filed by Okey Ahiwe, the candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, and Ikechi Emenike, the APC, were denied by the Lagos-based Court of Appeal.
The Labour Party’s Otti was elected governor of Abia State, but the APC and PDP want the ruling overturned by the highest court.
