The declaration was made by the former Minister of Transportation and the Director-General of PDP-PCC Rivers State, Dr. Abiye Sekibo, during a news briefing held in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
Among those present at the briefing were prominent figures such as Secondus, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Austin Opara, Celestine Omehia, former Deputy governor of the state Tele Ikuru, Senator Lee Maeba, and former Secretary to the Rivers State Government Dr. Gabriel Pidomson, among others.
It is worth noting that the council had previously thrown its support behind the PDP presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar.
More details on this development are expected to be released shortly, shedding more light on the implications and reasons behind this unexpected shift in allegiance.
