Anambra South’s Senator Ifeanyi Ubah has been confirmed dead by the Nigerian Senate.
On Saturday, Yemi Adaramodu who is the spokesperson for Senate declared that Ubah had passed away. However, no explanation was given regarding the cause of his death.
As of this report, the information about Ubah traveling to the United Kingdom for surgery has not been substantiated although a source brought it up.
At the age of 53, Ubah was a distinguished figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC) party before he passed away. He gained recognition as the Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil and enjoyed widespread popularity for his contributions to society.

In 2019, Ubah was elected to the Senate with the Young Progressives Party (YPP). He successfully ran for re-election in 2023 under this party before transitioning to the APC several months ago.
Ubah had a close call with an assassination attempt in September 2022 as his convoy was ambushed by gunmen while travelling to Nnewi in Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State.
At least five people lost their lives during the attack, including two policemen. However, Ubah was able to survive as his vehicle was impenetrable against bullets.
