The Nigerian Senate approved the supplemental appropriations bill for 2023 on Thursday, December 31, 2024.
By extension, the 2023 supplementary would be implemented at paripasu with the 2024 supplementary, which is valued at N28.78 trillion.
The extraordinary plenary, chaired by Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio, was followed by the passage.

The Senate Leader and senator from the Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Michael Bamidele Opeyemi, sponsored the 2023 supplemental budget bill and asked for an extension of its implementation.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio praised the senators in his speech for their patriotism and understanding, and he stated his belief that the implementation will enable the administration to finish all unfinished business.
