The Independent and Corrupt Practises and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Department of State Services (DSS) reportedly worked together to arrest Professor Cyril Ndifon on Thursday.
According to PlatinumPost, the controversial Ndifon, a former dean of the University of Calabar’s (UNICAL) Faculty of Law who has been suspended due to charges of sexual harassment, was allegedly kidnapped on Thursday.
However, according to a statement released on Thursday and signed by Peter Afunanya, Director of Public Relations and Strategic Communications for the DSS, Ndifon had declined to accept invitations from the ICPC, which had prompted the secret police to step in.
In relation to the University of Calabar (UNICAL) Sex Scandal case involving Professor Cyril NDIFON, the former Dean of the Institution’s Faculty of Law, the ICPC requested assistance from the Department of State Services (DSS).
The Commission had revealed that NDIFON had declined to accept its several invitations, leading to his final arrest in Calabar, Cross River State, by its agents on October 4, 2023, in accordance with a court order. However, the Service assisted it for a successful operation at the Commission’s request and in the spirit of interagency cooperation.
