President Tinubu is scheduled to swear in the new Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) this Friday, marking a significant moment in the nation’s judiciary.

On Friday, August 23rd, President Bola Tinubu will administer the oath of office to Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as Nigeria’s new Chief Justice (CJN).

After the retirement of Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the ceremony will be held at the Council Chambers in State House.

On Thursday, Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Media and Publicity Special Adviser declared the announcement.

President Tinubu has conveyed his felicitations to Justice Ariwoola on the culmination of a remarkable career in public service upon retirement.

Notable among Justice Ariwoola’s achievements during his tenure was serving as an esteemed appellate court justice across different divisions, leading up to being appointed Supreme Court Judge in 2011.

His contributions were particularly noteworthy subsequent to becoming CJN in 2022 and rendering valuable assistance towards strengthening Nigeria’s judiciary system.
