19 Ad-Hoc INEC employees who were abducted in the early hours of Saturday have been freed by Imo State Police Command personnel.
The state’s INEC spokeswoman, Chinenye Chijioke-Osuji, verified the news.
She said that after receiving a distress call, security personnel were informed of the event and quickly went into action.

The electoral commission’s Ad-Hoc staff members who were recently freed were on route to seven separate polling places in Ideato South Local Government Area’s Ugbelie ward 06 when they were abducted.
She continued by saying that some electoral materials, such as BVAS and sensitive materials, were not found.
