On September 18, the agos State Police Command unveiled three men suspects in the robbery and slaying of Adeniyi Sanni, a staff member of Senator Solomon Adeola, also known as Yayi.
Idowu Owohunwa, the commissioner of police for the state of Lagos, announced the arrest to reporters at the command’s Ikeja headquarters in Lagos.
On August 5, Sanni was slain when he was stopped by ‘fake security’ personnel at a checkpoint in Ojodu Berger while his route to his house in Isheri, Lagos.
We were able to apprehend the robbery and murder syndicate thanks to meticulous intelligence gathering and investigation work that brought out the best in the capabilities of the Lagos Police Command, according to Owohunwa. Three firearms, including the killer’s gun, were found when the three suspects who were directly engaged in the robbery and murder were apprehended.
A brand-new pistol with three live rounds, a pistol made locally with six live rounds, a Beretta pistol with three live rounds, six spent rounds, military gear including a military camouflage vest, a jungle hat, a pistol hose, and a red Honda CRV were all recovered by the command from the suspects.
The three suspects who were detained are Adedigba Segun, 26, of Ibadan, Oyo state, Lucky Idudu Michael, 33, and Fred Azeez Okuno, 43, both from Lagos.
