The All Progressives Congress (APC) has received formal defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by ex-Senate President Pius Anyim.
President Bola Tinubu was acquainted with Anyim through the introduction of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, who also holds the position of chairman in Progressives Governors’ Forum.
The South East region received commendations from Governor Uzodimma, who lauded the current administration for its support.

President Tinubu’s efforts were particularly highlighted as having a positive impact. The governor noted that many people have acknowledged the excellent performance of the president’s administration and heralded it as a new dawn in governance.
Due to APC’s impressive performance, significant gains have been made within this area according to him.
During his speech, Anyim stressed his commitment to advancing Nigeria and the significance of collaborative endeavors in propelling the nation forward.
Alongside a considerable number of supporters, such as former Senator Obinna Ogba, Chief Edward Nkwegu from the Labour Party, ex-members of both State and National Assemblies along with Local Government Area Chairmen among others; he officially became an APC member.
During the finale of APC’s campaign for the Local Government Area elections in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, a defection ceremony was conducted.
