The Congress specifically called for the removal of the National Chairman, Julius Abure, citing concerns that he was orchestrating a convention without proper consultation with key stakeholders.
This move has created a rift between Abure, the NLC, and the House of Representatives caucus, with the workers expressing fears that Abure’s actions could potentially harm the Labour Party.
Despite their efforts, the protesting workers were met with resistance from the Nigeria Police Force, who denied them access to the party’s Secretariat. Further details on the situation are expected to emerge shortly.
