The Nigerian government has officially declared that the student loan application portal, which has been eagerly anticipated, will be open for applications starting on Friday, May 24.

The spokesperson for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, Nasir Ayitogo, made this announcement in a statement released on Thursday.

This loan program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to pursue their academic goals without being hindered by financial constraints.

This event is a significant step towards President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to promoting accessible and inclusive education for all Nigerian students.

Through this portal, students will have the ability to apply for loans to support their academic pursuits without worrying about financial limitations.

The portal has been designed to be user-friendly, allowing students to easily submit their loan applications.

This announcement comes after an eight-month delay following President Tinubu’s initial announcement that the program would not commence in September 2023.
