Dauda Lawal of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been named the next governor of Zamfara State by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
To beat Bello Matawalle of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who received 311,976 votes, Lawal received a total of 377,726 votes.
In the wee hours of Tuesday, he was declared the victor in Gusau, the state capital.
