Malawian search teams have tragically discovered the wreckage of a plane carrying Vice President Saulos Chilima and nine others.
The aircraft disappeared during inclement weather conditions on Monday, according to a military source.
It failed to land in Mzuzu due to poor visibility and was instructed to return to Lilongwe. Unfortunately, the plane crashed with no survivors found.
President Lazarus Chakwera is expected to address the nation about the incident, with reports indicating no survivors. Rescue efforts were concentrated in a fog-covered forest south of Mzuzu, with neighboring countries assisting in the search.
The plane departed from Lilongwe heading to Mzuzu for a funeral, with Vice President Chilima being a well-loved figure in Malawi.
