The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) issued a strike directive, which prompted the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) to halt port operations nationwide.
All other port formations, including those in Port Harcourt, Warri, Onne, Calabar, and elsewhere, had been closed, with the exception of the ports in Lagos, a union official revealed.

According to the official, they won’t reopen until further notice from the national head of organised labour.
