An unidentified individual ignited a mosque in Laraba Abasawa, Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, as reported by Obasanjonews.com.

The incident took place during the early hours of Wednesday, resulting in injuries to worshippers. The community members were engaged in the ‘Subh’ prayer at the time of the attack.

A witness shared that the perpetrator used petrol to start the fire while approximately 40 individuals were praying, subsequently locking the mosque.

It was only after some time that those outside became aware of the situation and managed to rescue the victims who were trapped inside.

Around 20 injured worshippers were promptly taken to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano for urgent medical attention.
