With immediate effect, the Osun State Chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, or JUSUN, has declared an indefinite strike.

Oluwagbenga Olakunle Eludire, the state chairman of JUSUN, announced the strike on Wednesday.

The strike follows Osun JUSUN’s protests on Monday and Tuesday over the accusations of maladministration against Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo, the embattled Osun Chief Judge.

The JUSUN members further charged that she had unfairly targeted certain employees and denied them benefits, such as the reinstatement of state judicial employees who had been suspended by Justice Adepele Ojo, the restoration of training exercises, and arrears of wardrobe allowances from 2021 to 2023.

“Regularisation and promotion efforts ought to be carried out right away.

“Furthermore, other benefits to which JUSUN members are entitled ought to be implemented immediately.”

Eludire ordered all state employees in the judiciary to cease providing services and avoid the courts and their offices.
