The winner of the longest cooking marathon in history is none other than Irish chef Alan Fisher, who defeated Nigerian chef Hilda Baci.

Fisher, the chef and owner of a Japanese restaurant, holds two Guinness World Records in the culinary arts.

At 119 hours and 57 minutes, he set the record for the longest solo cooking marathon. That beat the previous record by over twenty-four hours, held by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci.

With a time of 47 hours 21 minutes, Alan then declared himself the winner of the longest baking marathon (individual). With a time of 31 hours 16 minutes, Wendy Sandner (USA) held the previous record.

Remember that on Tuesday, June 13, Hilda, a 26-year-old chef, was formally recognised as the holder of the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.

For 93 hours and 11 minutes, she cooked.

Hilda tried to break the record by working 100 hours, but her final total was reduced by nearly seven hours because she took an extended rest break early in the endeavour.
