Prominent Ijaw leader and elder statesman Edwin Clark has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of political influence and advocacy for the Niger Delta.

Edwin Clark, a former federal information commissioner and influential leader of the Ijaw ethnic group, has died at 97.

The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family from Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, announced his passing in a statement on Monday, February 17.

Until his passing, Clark continued to be a respected leader and influential figure in Nigerian politics.
