Governor of Oyo State Seyi Makinde has approved N25,000 in compensation payments for workers and N15,000 for retirees.
The governor said that the state’s payroll bill will include an additional N2.2 billion for a six-month payment period.

While addressing employees in the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan, Makinde made the revelation in the presence of labour leaders, such as Comrade Kayode Martins (NLC), Comrade Bosun Olabiyi (TUC), and Comrade Olaonipekun Oluwaseun (JNC Public Sector).
The governor was accompanied during the speech by several government officials, including Reverend Idowu Ogedengbe, the governor’s executive assistant, and Special Adviser (Labour Matters), Comrade Adebayo Titilola-Sodo.
As part of a decision made during a Congress on Monday to guarantee the matter is settled once and for all, the workers had invaded the Governor’s Office.
