Justice Ibrahim Saulawa delivered the judgement.
The much anticipated ruling on the Kano governorship controversy is currently being delivered by the supreme court.
On the Kano State Governorship controversy, Justice Okoro notes one of the primary concerns is whether the lower court was proper to have annulled 165,616 votes that were assigned to Governor Yusuf.
The judge also raises the question of whether the lower court erred in claiming jurisdiction over the NNPP governor’s membership.
Justice Okoro states, “I have discovered that the tribunal’s decision to deduct 165,616 votes from the Governor’s results was based on provisions of the Electoral Act 2022.”
