The management of the organisation has temporarily closed the Federal College of Forestry in Ibadan.
The fight between the institution’s employees, students, and certain members of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) resulted in the closure of the establishment.
When EFCC agents invaded the college on Tuesday, OBASANJONEWS24 recalls that there was tension there.
In a statement made available to OBASANJONEWS24 on Wednesday, Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity for the EFCC, stated that during a routine verification exercise of a surety, Azeez Kazeem Oluwakemi, seven operatives of the commission’s Ibadan Zonal Command were attacked and taken hostage by college staff and students.
According to Oyewale, the agents were present at the campus to verify Oluwakemi’s identification and address. Oluwakemi was acting as a guarantee for Alakinde Khalid Kolawole, an alleged online scammer who is under the commission’s custody.
In the statement, the EFCC spokesman further stated that college employees and students launched a furious assault on commission agents who were carrying out a legitimate duty.

The EFCC observed that the college community had received adequate information regarding the team’s mission.
According to Mr. Kehinde Olawale, the college’s public relations officer, the incident has caused the college to close.
These statements were made by Olawale on Wednesday over the phone with OBASANJONEWS24.
““The school has been closed to alleviate tension,” he declared. We have lodged a complaint at the Eleyele Police Station. A circular has been distributed to the pupils.
We have finally made the decision to close the school. In order to defuse the tension, we don’t want to see any students right now.
