Professor Cyril Ndifon, the divisive Dean of the Law Faculty at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), was abducted at his Akpabuyo home in the Akpabuyo local government area of Cross River state.

Thugs abducted a pastor, his daughter, and a landlord two weeks ago; they’re about to be freed.

In an earlier article, Prof. Ndifon described how masked individuals tried to kidnap him after following him inside a church.

According to a family source, he was abducted at 1am by a group of 10 gunmen who entered their home in the Calabar suburb of Akpabuyo.

According to the source, the event occurred on Thursday between 12:00 and 1:00 am while the occupants were asleep. They only heard a bang at their door and a voice warning them to open it or they would blow it open.

“And in a matter of seconds, ten highly armed men leaped the fence into the enclosure, opened fire on the sitting room’s door, and then entered.

They “went straight Oga side upon entering, broke into his room, dragged him into a waiting van, and sped off to an unknown destination.”

It is true that my husband was abducted this early morning by heavily armed individuals, and I pray he comes back alive, Mrs. Ndifon stated in a telephone interview, confirming the kidnapping.

“I’m unsure of what he did to merit this treatment. I am unsure about what to do.

Recall that on August 14, 2023, law students protested outside the vice chancellor’s office, charging the former dean with various offences such as sexual harassment, extortion, and being overbearing.

The university authorities established an investigation panel in the wake of the demonstration to look into the charges of wrongdoing made against Prof. Cyril Ndifon, the dean of law who had been suspended.

The investigation panel gave its findings to the vice chancellor, prof. Florence Obi, last week. In it, they expressed their belief that the study would be helpful to the university and serve as a resource for other universities.

She guaranteed that the report will be submitted to the ministers of education and women’s issues, as well as the Executive Secretary of the National University Commission (NUC), “nothing added, nothing removed.”
