The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is now holding Godwin Emefiele, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, in custody, PM news reported on Friday.
Less than an hour after he became out from the Department of State Services prison, Emefiele was picked up by EFCC agents on Thursday night. He is currently being questioned at the anti-graft agency’s National Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.

Our correspondent received the information on Friday morning from an immaculate source, who stated that Emefiele is being investigated by the EFCC for alleged wrongdoing while leading the nation’s largest bank.
True enough, Emefiele is in the custody of the EFCC at the moment; he was taken into prison last night, less than an hour after being released by the DSS. As part of an investigation into possible financial misappropriation during his tenure as CBN governor, among other allegations, he is presently being questioned at the Headquarters, the source stated.
