The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the results of the Edo State governorship poll, which the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formally rejected.
Umar Damagum, the acting national chairman of the PDP, urged worried Nigerians to support the party’s rejection of the election results during a press conference in Abuja.

Declaring that Asue Ighodalo, the PDP candidate, was the legitimate victor, Damagum stressed that the party “unequivocally rejects the result as announced by INEC.”
The party has expressed alarm about purported anomalies and is calling on the public and its supporters to join them in contesting the electoral process.
