Dangote Refinery starts petrol production, with the first batch ready for distribution across Nigeria.
The Lagos-based refinery of Dangote has begun producing its first Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol), with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day.
During a press conference held with journalists on Tuesday, Aliko Dangote – the President of Dangote Group – revealed this information.
According to him, the use of the company’s petrol will reduce import reliance, lower inflation and stabilize exchange rates between the Naira and dollar.
He stated that the petrol would be introduced to the Nigerian market once discussions with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited were concluded.
