Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has been granted immediate and unrestricted access to his attorneys and family members, according to a Federal High Court ruling in Abuja.
Following a request from J.B. Daudu, Emefiele’s attorney, Justice Hamza Muazu issued the ruling on Friday.
Emefiele was suspended by President Bola Tinubu on Friday night, and the DSS detained him on Saturday, according to Obasanjonews24.
In order to obtain additional instructions from him, his attorney had written letters to the DSS, particularly on June 14. However, the DSS refused to respond to the application, as his attorney had stated to the court.
According to Justice Muazu’s decision regarding the application, Emefiele’s right to access counsel and family members is protected by the constitution.
