BREAKING: Benue bank robberies result in scores of fatalities

Unknown numbers of Otukpo, Benue State, civilians have reportedly been killed by gunmen who are thought to be armed robbers.

According to information obtained by Obasanjonews24, the gunmen attacked various banks in Otukpo on Friday about 3 p.m. while firing intermittently.

Sunday Abah, an eyewitness, told Obasanjonews24 that the gunmen had been active for a number of hours without any help from the security forces.

“Armed robbers have taken control of Otukpo everywhere. They simply open fire on everybody they come across.

He stated, “They have been here for more than three hours and are currently robbing Zenith Bank.”

As of the time this story was filed, DSP Catherine Anene Sewuese, the public relations officer for the Benue State Police, could not be reached.
