APC’s Lucky Aiyedatiwa triumphs in the Ondo State Governorship Election, securing a victory that strengthens the party’s position in the region.
The All Progressives Congress claimed victory in the Ondo State Governorship election, sweeping all 18 local government areas and obtaining the highest overall vote count.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winners in 18 local government areas, announcing that APC candidate and current governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa won the election with a total of 366,781 votes.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the current officeholder and candidate from the APC, secured around 366,781 votes. This tally exceeded that of his closest competitor Agboola Ajayi from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who obtained 117,895 votes.
The election took place in 3,933 polling units within the state’s 18 local government areas. According to INEC data, voters collected 1.7 million Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), representing 85.6 percent of the total registered voter population of 2.05 million in the state.
