Abba Yusuf of the NNPP wins the governor of Kano election, breaking

In the Kano State governor’s race held on Saturday, the New Nigeria Peoples Party, or NNPP, triumphed over the All Progressive Party.

With 1,019,602 votes, Abba Kabir Yusuf of the NNPP defeated Nasir Gawuna of the APC, who received 890,705 votes.

On Monday morning, Prof. Ahmad Doko Ibrahim, the returning officer for the Independent National Election Commission, declared Yusuf the victor of the Kano gubernatorial race.

To reduce post-election agitation, the Kano State administration had already declared a curfew.
