The results of the 2023 Internal Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) have been made public by the National Examinations Council (NECO), and a record 61.60 percent of applicants received five or more credits, including English and Mathematics.
The examination council reported that 93 Schools were discovered to be engaging in whole-school (mass) cheating, and 52 Supervisors were suggested for blacklisting owing to subpar supervision, assisting, and abetting during the exams.
This information was provided when the publication of the exam results was announced by Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer.

According to Wushishi, the Council will discuss the indiscreet schools and then impose the necessary sanctions.
He stated that 1,196,985 applicants, including 616,398 men and 580,587 women, took the exams. He also stated that 1,543 candidates with special needs also took the exams.
A total of 1,542 candidates have special needs, according to Wushishi, including 913 candidates with hearing impairment, 162 candidates with vision impairment, 103 candidates with albinism, 61 candidates with autism, 149 candidates with low vision, and 154 candidates with adermatoglyphia, which means they lack fingerprints.
“737,308 representing 61.60 percent of Candidates passed with five credits or more, and 1,013,611 representing 84.68 percent of Candidates had five credits regardless of English and mathematics,” according to the results.
