The Super Eagles are set to depart Libya after enduring a 14-hour delay at the airport, facing challenges as they prepare for their upcoming matches.

The players and officials of the Super Eagles are getting ready to depart from Libya after experiencing a difficult situation, which included more than 14 hours of delay along with reports of misconduct by the host nation.

This information was shared by sports enthusiast Pooja Media on Monday via their X account.

The Super Eagles faced major travel disruptions when their flight was rerouted, leading to numerous logistical challenges that affected their preparations for the AFCON 2025 Qualifier match.

Claims of mistreatment by Libyan authorities have added to the team’s growing frustrations.

He mentioned, “The Super Eagles players and all the officials are boarding a flight from Libya back to Nigeria. Thank God.”

To confirm this, Bruno Onyemaechi, a player, stated, “I’m done with Libya. It has nothing to do with me anymore. Thank God I’m returning.”

Before this, Libyan authorities were accused of denying the Super Eagles’ chartered flight, ValueJet, permission and aviation fuel needed to fly the players back to Nigeria.
