In Brazil, a disturbing video has surfaced capturing a terrifying incident where an alligator pursued and assaulted a swimmer.
This incident occurred on Saturday at a picturesque lake called Lago do Amor in Campo Grande, which is a popular tourist destination.
However, swimming in this lake is strictly prohibited due to the presence of alligators. Despite the warning, a man decided to enter the forbidden waters, catching the attention of Willyan Caetano, who promptly started recording the scene.
Caetano’s video reveals the heart-stopping moment when the alligator began chasing the unfortunate swimmer.
The man desperately tried to swim faster in an attempt to evade the approaching reptile. Shockingly, the footage shows the alligator swiftly closing in on the swimmer and launching an attack, managing to bite the swimmer’s arm.
Mr. Caetano recounted the incident where an alligator unexpectedly pursued a man, causing him to swim frantically in an attempt to escape.
Unfortunately, the alligator caught up to him and viciously bit his arm, leaving him frightened and covered in blood. Local reports indicate that emergency services were contacted following the attack, although the swimmer only sustained minor injuries to his arm.
Garapeira Marinalva da Silva, who operates a sugarcane juice stand at Lago do Amor, mentioned that this was the first instance of someone swimming in the water.
She further explained that the area is known to have alligators, and when children venture near, they are promptly warned and discouraged from entering. The absence of warning signs cautioning swimmers to avoid the water is believed to have contributed to the incident.
