Brazilian icon Romario makes unexpected decision to play football again at age 58
Romario, the renowned Brazilian football icon, has recently made a surprising announcement at the age of 58, revealing his decision to come out of retirement and join the Brazilian team America Football Club in Rio de Janeiro.
This decision marks a significant return to the sport after a hiatus of 15 years.
Throughout his illustrious career, Romario achieved remarkable feats, including winning the World Cup in 1994 and showcasing his skills for prominent teams such as PSV in the Netherlands and the esteemed LaLiga giants, Barcelona.

Notably, Romario has not only registered himself as a player for America Football Club but also serves as its president. Additionally, his son, Romarinho, is also a part of the team.
In an Instagram post, Romario expressed that his primary motivation for returning to the field is the opportunity to play alongside his son and represent his beloved team.
Despite his legendary status, Romario has humbly agreed to receive a “minimum wage” salary from the club, which he intends to donate back to America as a generous contribution, as reported by Marca.
