Activist Omoyele Sowore appeals to Nigerians to cease online bullying of South Africans amid tensions arising from a dispute involving Bolt drivers, advocating for respectful dialogue instead.

Joining the already intense online argument between Nigerians and South Africans is Omoyele Sowore, previously a presidential candidate.

According to OBASANJONEWS, Nigerians and South Africans engaged in another competition for supremacy during the early hours of Thursday.

From the convenience of their homes, citizens from both countries engaged in ordering and canceling rides to each other’s nations.

Sowore made a specific request to Nigerians, urging them to refrain from engaging in cyber bullying of South Africans.

On X, he expressed his strong disapproval towards the cyber attack on South African internet infrastructure carried out by a group of netizens allegedly from ‘Nigeria’, causing disruptions in online transportation services for many Africans due to the wrongdoing of some South Africans.

“I demand that ‘Cyber Xenophobia’ be stopped immediately, as it is just as unacceptable and dangerous as mental or physical xenophobia.”

This terrible behavior would have a negative impact on millions of South Africans and Nigerians living abroad.

Bolt, the technology-based ride-hailing firm, has suspended some accounts that were involved in requesting fraudulent rides and then cancelling them. The exact number of affected accounts remains unspecified at this time.
