Boko Haram roadside bomb in Borno results in six fatalities
When a delivery truck ran over a covert device that Boko Haram terrorists had placed in Borno, at least six people were murdered.
In Konduga Local Government Area, on a rural route linking Bama and Kawuri, where citizens frequently traveled to different regions of the state, the incident took place.
Obasanjonews24 discovered that one of the cars, a Toyota Starlet traveling from Adamawa State, stepped on the bomb, killing all five occupants.
An hour later, in a Maiduguri hospital, the driver who had suffered serious injuries passed away.
Since there haven’t been any attacks on the road between Bama and Konduga for the past six years, it has been a haven for calm. That is, until the militants decided to plant bombs on the road this year.
Locals in Maiduguri expressed surprise at the recent turn of events, saying that terrorist activity is on the rise despite the government’s appeal for an end to hostilities.
Remember that the government claimed that over 100,000 militants, together with their families, have so far turned themselves in, but the frequency of recent attacks suggests that significant work still needs to be done to combat terrorist activity, particularly in Borno State.
