Borno State faces another tragic attack as suspected Boko Haram terrorists kill 2 and abduct 7, intensifying security concerns.

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists carried out a series of attacks along the Maiduguri/Gamboru Ngala Road on Saturday, resulting in two fatalities and seven passengers being taken hostage.

The military checkpoints and commercial vehicles were the targets of violence, which caused destruction to vehicles worth hundreds of millions in naira.

According to Obasanjonews.com, the insurgents targeted checkpoints and also set fire to commercial vehicles. This resulted in significant financial damages for both traders and vehicle owners as their goods were looted by these individuals who are known for stealing from traveling vehicles along this particular route.

The deteriorating state of the road has made it easier for insurgents to carry out ambushes, as emphasized by commercial driver Ali Abubakar. He recounted an incident that occurred last Thursday along Mafa and Dikwa Road where two people lost their lives; looting and burning of their vehicles also took place.

A Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) member in Mafa has confirmed that insurgents abducted seven individuals, including the driver of a Desert Land Rover on Friday between Ajiri and Dikwa.

The abductees’ current location is unknown, and efforts are underway to secure their safe release. This incident is part of a related development concerning insurgent activity.

Efforts to reach out for additional input from Nahum Kenneth Daso, the State Police Public Relations Officer, have proven futile as of this present report.
